Who is Candid Coaching?

My name is Elizabeth, or Eli, Fitzpatrick, and I use she and they pronouns. I am a Certified Life Coach from the Life Purpose Institute, specializing in Career Coaching, Existential Crisis Coaching, and Purpose & Meaning Coaching. I’m the Founder and CEO (Chief Existential Officer) at Candid Coaching. With almost a decade of experience working in human resources and currently pursuing my MA in Counseling Psychology, I am deeply fascinated by people and eager to explore what makes you tick. I understand companies, career paths, graduate school, and the job market.

My purpose is to work with individuals as they strive to find meaning in their lives, through vocation or life and I am committed to putting my life force into partnering with you on this journey.

My Story

I grew up in rural Alaska, living for years without electricity or running water on a homestead built in 1943. As I looked at the world and culture around me, I felt a sense of disconnection from the people in my community. From a young age, I knew at a core level that my life’s future lay elsewhere. To create a life that felt true to me, I had to write a different life story than everything I saw modeled. I learned to trust my intuition, despite being told repeatedly that no one in their right mind would leave Alaska. My journey to meaning in adult life has meant stepping into my capability, building community in the place that feels like home to me, and learning to love who I am, where I come from, and where I am going.

My Values

My work as a coach is informed by my authentically-aligned values. Care & connection, the first tenet that I bring to my coaching is human connection and unconditional positive regard. There is nothing you could say that would make me judge you, and, to me, the most important factor is do we click. Is there a connection? Because a connection allows us to build trust which is the foundation for any work we can do together. The next tenet is authenticity & genuineness. I believe that at our core, everyone’s true purpose is to be uniquely and beautifully yourself. Embracing your authenticity is a tool to grow genuine connections, joy, and a life with less regret! Growth & capability is the third tenet I hold as a coach. I will encourage you to explore with self-compassion the motivations for your blocks. Finally, freedom & liberation is the fourth value I bring. How can you feel empowered by your life rather than overpowered by it? Our lives are informed by our identities and systems in which we live, and yet, we all still have areas of agency and capacity. Through taking accountability, acknowledging strengths & growth edges, and building for the lives we crave, we begin our paths to more authentic and joy-filled lives.

As a liberation-oriented coach, I believe in working very transparently. As any coaching process will begin with a values evaluation, I want to share mine so you can determine whether you’d like to work together. Our values do not need to be the same for us to work together!
